About Us

Organized in 1994 by local women sailors, OWSA promotes women’s sailing through education and practical experience. Our members are business owners, artists, managers, lawyers, clerks, stay-at-home moms, writers and educators — name a profession, talent, or interest, and you will find an OWSA member in that field. Our members come in all ages, and have various levels of sailing experience, from newbies to experts. Joining OWSA gives you access to sailing opportunities throughout the Northwest. At any given time we also have friends and members out sailing the deep blue, blogging, posting and sharing their adventures with us here on the Columbia.

OWSA offers classes, races, organized evening and weekend cruises, and boat ownership training as well as connecting new sailors with more experienced ones through our Sailing Sisters program. There really is something for almost everyone!

OWSA meets the second Wednesday of each month from 6:30-8:00pm at the Rose City Yacht Club, 3737 NE Marine Drive, Portland, OR. The meeting includes a light supper.

Annual membership in the not-for-profit club is $35. Come, join our all-volunteer club and rev-up your sailing life!
